Soil diversity within the complex of soils in the Zielonka Experimental Forest District
Puszcza Zielonka Landscape Park is the protected area situated 10 to 30 km north-east of Poznań University of Life Sciences. In total 80% of the area of the landscape park is covered by forests. The highest point of the Landscape Park is Dziewicza Góra. At the top of the hill there is an observation point, seasonally opened to the public as a viewing tower. The area is popular with tourists and day-trippers. Particularly noteworthy are the 200-year-old tree stands with a well-documented history and "Wooden Churches Trail around Puszcza Zielonka", which includes 12 wooden churches, the oldest dated on 1266. The 200-year, well-documented history of forests management provides opportunities for research on soils that are both untouched by humans, as well as changed by forest management or agricultural use, what will be shown during the session.
