The 31st Congress of the Soil Science Society of Poland - Soil in the Changing World will be held on September 11-16, 2023 in Poznań (campus of the Poznań University of Life Sciences). The aim of the Congress is to present the recent results of research conducted by scientific units in Poland and abroad, related to broadly understood soil science. Scientific issues of the Congress include the following issues: soil genesis and classification, chemical and biological processes in soil, physical and physicochemical processes in soils, soil degradation, reclamation and protection, sustainable use of soil resources, soil transformation and its effects on the environment, monitoring of threats soil environment, soil-forming processes in shaping soil properties, with particular emphasis on changes in the soil environment caused by progressive anthropopressure and climate change. As part of the Congress, there will be an opportunity to broadly exchange views and discuss scientists and practitioners from Poland and abroad. Post-congress applications will be forwarded to institutions of various levels, which are responsible for soil protection and management of soil resources, coordination of soil research and education. The congress will bring benefits from the dissemination of the results of the latest scientific research and development works in the field of soil science and environmental protection. The exchange of experiences will increase the awareness of the state of knowledge and scientific research in the field of soil science among scientists from Polish and foreign centers. The aim of the Congress will also be to strengthen cooperation with representatives of foreign soil science societies. The Congress will give an excellent opportunity to present to scientists from around the world the scientific potential and the results of research conducted by Polish researchers who, in the context of research on soils transformed as a result of anthropopressure, are among the world's leaders.
