The effect of mid-field trees on soil morphology and chemical properties in the Dezydery Chłopowski Landscape Park
The field session will take place in the Dezydery Chłapowski Agroecological Landscape Park, located in the area of the mesoregion of Kosciańska Plain. The park area is characteroised by unique agricultural with a network of mid-field trees, created in the XIX century. The total area of the Park is 17,000 ha, cover with arable lands (65%), grasslands (8.5%) and forests (14.7%). Soil profiles presenting durong the session will represents Luvisols and Phaeozems (the most common soil types in the Central Polish Lowlands), both on arable land and adjacent strips of mid-field trees. During the session, the results of over 40 years of research conducted in this area will be presented. In addition, the session will include visiting the distillery museum in Turew. The distillery is operating continuously for 100 years.
