The effect of relief and denudation processes on properties of soils in catena system of undulating ground moraine of the Poznań Lakeland
The field session will take place in the Agriculture and Pomology Research Farm (APRF) in Przybroda, located within the Poznan Lakeland mesoregion. APRF occupies an area of 490 ha, of which 400 ha of soils are used for arable farming and 50 ha of orchard plantations. During the field session, soil profiles of typical for the Polish Lowlands Luvisols and Phaeozems/Gleysols in a hydrotoposequence association will be presented. Soils of these systems, especially under conditions of intensive cultivation, are transformed, including denudation, which is reflected in changes in morphological, chemical and physical properties. During the session, more than 30 year-long results of stationary studies of soil water regime and groundwater chemistry of the toposequence system will be discussed.
In addition, a tour of the biogas plant located in the APRF Przybroda is planned as part of the session.
